Scott Estes recently joined the Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) as manager of planning and engineering. His responsibilities include short and long-term water system planning related to capital improvements, analyzing the existing system to detect and correct deficiencies, and determining facilities and operating parameters to serve new development. Estes is also responsible for the engineering and construction of water system improvements such as pumping stations, wells, feeder mains, storage tanks and treatment facilities.
"I am very excited about joining the TMWA organization and extremely pleased to be back in the water business," Estes said.
Estes brings with him 19 years of experience in planning and engineering. Prior to joining TMWA, he was the manager of civil engineering and construction services for Sierra Pacific Power Company. Originally from Redding, Calif., Estes and his wife, Tami, relocated to Reno 20 years ago. He obtained a bachelor's of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a registered professional engineer in both Nevada and California.
